I bought it by mistake (as I meant to order the console bar which I ordered later) and nevertheless I did attach it to my baby jogger summit. Yet, other than just "defining" the stroller it does nothing for me. On occassion I put there the baby's bottle (and even then it does not hold it that great).
It is too soft and I do not think I will ever find much use for it.
Not necessary.

Just got my console and I really like it, it straps on to the belly bar easily and it seems like it would be simple to remove and wash. It is quite roomy and my daughter likes that she can put her things inside and take them out again! If you have the belly bar, this item is a great addition.

First of all, I love that the Baby Jogger has so many accessories so that you can really make it your own. A belly bar was a requirement when stroller shopping for me. My first two kids always liked having a bar to hold on to and look over and also put their feet up on when relaxing. When their stroller wore out and I had to buy a new one for baby #3, I bought the Baby Jogger City Mini and added this belly bar. It it's lowest position, it's just right for my 1-year old to hold on to and grab her sippy or snack cup out of (She's a small baby - 40th percentile). At it's middle position, I can fit the Graco infant seat - it's a tight fit, though. If your baby is still a newborn and you will be using the infant seat a lot in the stroller, I'd recommend the other attachment specifically for car seats.
